Dictator’s Decree: “How dare the Eagles and Patriots waste my valuable time by making me write about such a pointless trade! Don’t they know I’m the supreme dictator of an entire island nation? Can’t they comprehend the demands on my precious time as I unilaterally pass new laws and inflict punishment on my enemies? Enough already!” – March 2019

For as much as I love draft day trades – especially when teams smartly trade down – the volume of New England’s trades exhausts even me, your indefatigable benevolent dictator! It’s a good thing I have more stamina and mental capacity than 15 average men or the Patriots would have put even me over the top this year. Trading No. 233 for No. 250 and a 7th round pick next year is just a waste of everyone’s time. It’s like a pedestrian stopping in the middle of a busy crosswalk to pick up a nickle. I know it’s shiny and technically has some value, but just let it go!
Trade #18.35 – Assets Exchanged
Eagles receive: No. 233 (7th Rd.)
Patriots receive: No. 250 (7th Rd.), 2019 7th Rd. pick
Trade #18.35 – Players Drafted & Transactions

2018 Year-End Summary
And with that meaningless transaction, all of the 2018 draft day trades are complete! I hope one of these guys somehow becomes a Pro Bowler or I’ll feel like writing this column was a waste of my time to write and your time to read. Real talk from your dictator.
Notes on statistics:
1. Approximate Value(“AV”) and Snap Counts (“Snap”) per Football Reference.
2. Snap Counts only list offensive and defensive snaps. Special teams snaps are excluded.
Somebody needs to give the Patriots the number to the Trade Down Addiction hotline.
